St Germans Community Shop is a small, friendly and dynamic volunteer-based business situated in a historic village in SE Cornwall. We aim to provide a wide range of quality goods with a high standard of service which seeks to both meet and anticipate customer needs.

We are a not-for-profit organisation and since opening in 2010 have given £10,500 via grants to local good causes. In addition, we continually raise money for local organisations through counter-top collections. In 2014 we became a Post Office Local and expanded both our opening times and range of services. The Post Office is now open when the retail side is open – seven days a week.

The Shop Manager is Jennie Lewington

Hey! Why not Join Us?

We are always looking to increase our volunteer pool and are currently looking for help with running our Post Office.
As you know we are open Monday – Friday: 9am – 12pm and 4pm – 6pm,  Saturday 9am – 12pm, and Sunday 9am – 11am. We’re not expecting you to cover a whole morning or afternoon,  most  do 2½, others 2 hours and some just 1 hour – we’re flexible.
Whilst a regular time and day is very helpful, we are happy to have a pool of trained people who can step in during times of holiday or sickness.
No experience is necessary as full training and support will be given by our manager, Jennie Lewington.
Whether you would rather be behind the shop counter or in the Post Office, we would love to add you to our volunteers list.
Please call into the shop and speak to Jennie for more information. Come on – give it a try!!
